Outback NSW

We are travelling well. Josh is ok when he's in the present and not thinking of the unknown. Mitch is reading up and planning what we will do in Broken Hill. Xavier has a new take on "Are we the yet?" With constant checking if we are going to Uluru today!

We've spent hours along the Mitchell Highway and saw Brad's Wear. We are now on the lookout for a Joshua, Xavier and Melissa 'thing' out there.

Help us choose a daily theme song.
We're still yet to agree on a theme song. Long Way to the Top, TNT, Eye of the Tiger are in contention. We are open for ideas so comment with your song suggestions!

Day 1- Home to Wellington via Bathurst.
Our first stop was for Brad. He's been dreaming of going to Mount Panorama to see the cars race. Well that dream came true....ok so it was not the ACTUAL Bathurst 1000 but the Hi-Tech 6 hour . There were cars making loud noises and going fast around the track. Just the same right??!!! A quick stop to the museum and we were back on the road.

First night we spent in Wellington. A riverside caravan park where the boys made some friends and played night soccer and spotlight!!

DAY 2 Wellington to Wilcannia
A huge day of driving, 609 km. Didn't plan to be that long but we missed the Roadhouse we were intending to camp. We were too enthralled with The Grade Cricketer podcast ( thanks for the recommendation Matt L).

We hit Outback NSW, where the temps were 35 plus, huge open spaces with hours of straight highway driving. We spotted kangaroos, emus, birds and lots of goats along the way . We were surprised to see more greenery, which was quite beautiful against the red dirt.
Can you spot the Emu?

Brad and I were entertained by Road signs along the way!

We had lunch in Ngynan with the Big Bogan with the temp at 36 deg we didnt stay long.

At Cobar we were lucky to witness a truck entering a gold mine with a fantastic look out to view the enormity of the mine.

Setting up camp in a bush style caravan park ($10 for the night) and enjoying a sausage sizzle for dinner we head onto Broken hill for day 3.
